Wellness Strategies

Mission

The body is a living symposium of chemical reactions and waves of electrical energy. Trillions of cells form a network of active neural communication, bringing to life this phenomenal vehicle for the expression of who we are as humans.

Wellness Strategies serve to optimize life as it is experienced through our body, emotions, mind and spirit. Patterns of posturing in the spine, looped emotional reactions, and habitual thinking are broken, and then re-formed from a reference point of shifted awareness.

Through these various modalities, my personal mission is to:

  1. - Understand and promote a natural process of energy management, for sustained wellness.
  2. - Facilitate reconnection to our bodies, with conscious breath, physical release and awareness.
  3. - Build simple breath and body movement practices into each and every day that support health and well-being.
  4. - Promote multiple strategies that help to successfully manage energy.
  5. - Warmly support individuals in experiencing a progressive and easeful life.

Yoga/Body Movement

Restorative Yoga/Body Movement (based on method: TriYoga)

Current schedule of classes/workshops

Movement of the body while consciously breathing deeply enhances health and well-being in multiple ways.  Regardless of how flexible or inflexible a body is, or regardless of one’s perceived “ability”, an individual can learn new movements in a way that mentally and physically challenges one to fully engage with the experience of flexibility and strength building, in a safe and comfortable way. The many benefits of combining slow-paced body movement with deep breathing include;

  • -increase endurance of body and mind
  • -increase ability to relax
  • -enhance mental focus and ability to re-center
  • -develop capacity to breathe deeply
  • -develop a language for body awareness/sensitivity
  • -deepen flexibility and openness in the body, mind and emotions
  • -develop core strength
  • -re-train the nervous system

About the TriYoga method: Movements flow from one to the next, with equal emphasis given to the body pose and the transition between poses.  The body learns fluidity through repeated sequences, initiated by wave-like movements in the spine. The speed is slow, and the body moves according to the pacing of deep abdominal breaths.

While practicing centeredness and presence, we spend significant time being in deep hip opening stretches. This lets the individual become comfortable with experiencing stored tension (which also includes accumulated thought and emotional energy).  Over time, the body starts to release this tension permanently. With new openness in the legs, hips, spine, shoulders comes a more connected experience to life -- since life is experienced through our bodies!  Deep core strengthening opportunities are built into the slow moving sequences, as the individual learns to ignite muscle strength from inside out, thus building palpable confidence and stability in the body structure.

Light Touch Healing

Light Touch Healing is a remarkable modality that directly accesses the nervous system, to elicit healing through body, breath and energy responses.

During a session the body is positioned horizontally and face-down on a specifically designed table. The client relaxes as light (split-second) contacts are delivered to the spine at key places on the neck and/or base of the spine (sacrum) using the hands/fingers. These contacts send "signals" into the nervous system, cuing the brain to release tension in the body and spine, and increase both breath flow and the movement of energy/chi.

Clients can have a range of experiences post-session, including healing of physical pain, relaxation, more breath, emotional release, clarity, expansion, and greater aliveness.  This method addresses acute situations as well as chronic patterns of tension.

In addition, each session is educational, in that it teaches the unconscious part of the brain to self-correct ineffective patterns in posturing. This "training" continues in the time between sessions. Clients start to notice and experience an automatic adjustment of the posture (along with mood and perspective) in the course of the day. The health benefits are multifold, ultimately enhancing well-being on a physical, emotional and mental level.

Session length is 30-45 minutes.  Please contact Nikita for more information and to schedule a session.

Coaching

Coaching is a fantastic medium by which an individual can make intentional life changes in a way that is fun, easeful, and loving.   I work with individuals in 1-on-1, 50 minute coaching sessions over the phone, video chat, or in person to provide support with life transitions, relationships, questions of identity and purpose, self-image/confidence, connection to passion, energy management and experiencing more well-being and joy.

I have received coaching for 5 years from my mentor, Grace Caitlin, and it has been incredibly transformative in my own life.  By deeply understanding my inner workings, I have learned how to use my unique nature as a skill  by which to make clear choices, listen to my inner wisdom, create successful relationships, and communicate with authenticity.   My goal is to similarly support clients in uncovering and igniting their own unique gifts so they can live the life of their wildest dreams.

My training includes 4 years of study with my mentor, including completion of a 250-hour, 9-month Coaching and Mentorship program in 2012.  I currently work with individuals of various ages to support them in their growth.
